A: Ground floor of the Alan Gilbert Building, 161 Barry St, (corner Grattan St) Carlton. We are opposite the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine and are close to the Royal Melbourne and the Royal Children's Hospitals.

A: Monday - Thursday 8.30 am - 5.30 pm
    Friday - 8.30am – 5.00pm
    Saturday - 10.00 am – 3.00.pm
    Sunday - Closed

PRICES AND DISCOUNTS

Q: Do you offer any discounts?

A: Order online and receive 15% discount for most books Over $30. Exceptions apply. Nett priced items and already discounted titles will appear as SPP Nett price. Discounts on some of these items may already be 20% and more.
The final GST inclusive price is shown upon completion of your online order.

Q: Are prices subject to change?

A: Yes. Retail prices cited on our website are based on the date the book was last stocked. Due to volatile currency fluctuations and publishers' increases, prices on items not currently in stock may be subject to change. These entries show POA (price on application) or TBC (to be confirmed) Where the price needs confirming we will contact you prior to supply. Alternatively – you are always welcome to phone us on 03 9341 7000, or email us for pricing confirmation. All prices quoted are in Australian dollars and are GST inclusive.

Q: I need a book that is not listed on your database.

A: Drop us a line with the details of the book/s or use the email form on our contacts page and we will find it for you. Although we generally stock law, medical & nursing books we can order in any book from anywhere in the world.

Q: What about delivery?

A: SPP Medical & Legal Books can deliver your books anywhere in the world.
Order online and SAVE - For all online orders $100 retail or over, SPP Books will deliver by standard mail free of charge anywhere in Australia. If you require your order to sent via express post or you require alternative freighting arrangements, please email us.

Overseas orders are sent via insured International courier (charged at courier freight cost price to us) anywhere in the world. We will confirm freight charges before proceeding with your order.

Online orders under $99.99 retail will incur a $12.00 delivery fee.
Charges for international or urgent special orders will be confirmed prior to supply.

Pick up of paid orders of any value from SPP is free, as is transfer of paid orders for collection at the Baillieu branch of the bookshop.

Q: How long will it take for my book to arrive once I have placed an order?

A: Thousands of  books are available for either immediate supply from our well stocked shop, or between 5 - 10 working days if not in stock and available at publishers Australian warehouses. Some books may take a little longer to supply depending on availability and overseas suppliers, but we endeavour to obtain all books as quickly as possible.

Q. How do I place an urgent order or advise you of any special instructions?

A: If you have any special instruction, please include these in the comments field when placing your order.

Q: What if I want to return an item?

A: PLACE YOUR ORDERS CAREFULLY. Unless faulty, all products are sold on a firm sale basis and will not be considered for return except under special circumstances. Please contact us within 3 weeks of purchase if you wish to request consideration to return a non faulty item. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted. Special orders and imports for non-stock items cannot be cancelled once the order has been initiated. Should you have an item that is faulty, please contact SPP Medical & Legal Books prior to return.

Q: Is it safe to order through SPP's website?

A: Yes. SPP uses the industry standard SSP encryption software on our secure server. All personal information, including credit card details, are encrypted during transmission using the same technologies as major institutions and your payments are processed by the National Australia Banks NAB Transact for added security.

SEARCHING AND ORDERING BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT

Q: How do I search for items?

A: Please keep your search as unique and as precise as possible. You can search for books by author, title, keyword or ISBN. Don't use words such as "a, the, is, and" etc. Most words on our database use English spelling i.e. paediatrics not pediatrics so always try the British spelling first, but if you don't find enough, try a second - or third search, e.g.. counseling or counselling or counsel. And remember, some words can be one word - healthcare - or two - health care. You may also further refine your search by also using year, category and topic. Or you can search broadly by year, category and topic if for e.g you would like to see everything published in anaesthesia in 2011.

Q: My search has returned too many entries. How can I narrow my search?

A: Narrow your search by selecting the "year of publication" drop down box. Not only will this narrow your search, it will allow you to quickly find the most current and up to date books in your areas of interest.

Q: My search didn't find anything - What happened?

A: Make sure your search type corresponds with what you have entered in the "search word" box. If you are still having a problem please email or phone us and we will check for you.

Q: How do I order items?

A: When you find what you want, click on the add to cart button and the item will be placed in your cart under the checkout box.Once you have finished adding to your cart, proceed to checkout where you are able to view the items you have selected, quantities and prices. This is where you can change your order if necessary. You may then order online immediately through our secure website.

Q: How can I keep up to date with new & forthcoming titles?

A: Our mailing lists are currently under development but you can add your name to our lists now. You will soon receive regular emails advising you of new books and special offers. You can also find new and forthcoming books, as well as featured titles on our homepage.
